Itinerary
We collect you directly from Auckland Airport or your hotel, either near the airport or in central Auckland, in our comfortable 100% electric van. You can simply relax and enjoy the views, or choose to hop out and explore at several stops along the way.
Downtown Auckland & Waterfront
We begin in the heart of the city, exploring vibrant downtown Auckland, including the Viaduct Harbour and Britomart precinct, with their mix of heritage buildings, modern architecture, and harbourside views. This area is a great introduction to Auckland’s parks, gardens, and waterfront lifestyle, and offers plenty of photo opportunities.
Historic Parnell Village & Judges Bay
From downtown we head to Parnell Village, often described as Auckland’s oldest suburb, first established as a village in 1841. Here you will see charming streets, boutique shops, and historic buildings that tell the story of early European settlement in Tāmaki Makaurau / Auckland.
We then visit nearby Judges Bay and the Parnell Rose Gardens, a peaceful coastal spot named for early colonial judges and overlooking the Waitematā Harbour. This bay was an important place for interaction and trade between Māori and the new settlers living in Parnell and around the harbour.
Pukekawa / Auckland Domain
Next we make our way up to Pukekawa / Auckland Domain, one of the city’s oldest and most significant parks. In the 1840s this area was home, at Pukekawa, to Waikato-Tainui chief Pōtatau Te Wherowhero, who later became the first Māori King. Here you will hear stories that bring to life both Māori history and the experiences of the early European settlers, as we pass memorials and landmarks connected to key moments in Aotearoa New Zealand’s past.
Maungawhau / Mount Eden & Cornwall Park
We then drive to Maungawhau / Mount Eden, the city’s highest natural viewpoint, where you can enjoy panoramic 360-degree views over Auckland and its many volcanic cones. After taking in the views and capturing photos, we continue to beautiful Cornwall Park and One Tree Hill, gifted to the people of Auckland by early settler and civic leader Sir John Logan Campbell.
Cornwall Park is a working farm and public park with stone walls, open fields, and grand trees; it is a relaxing place to stroll, learn about the area’s layered Māori and European history, and enjoy an ice cream while taking in the views.
Return Transfer
After our final stop, we return you to your hotel or the airport, depending on your plans. This is a relaxed, small-group experience with many chances to step out, take photos, and truly feel the character of this vibrant, beautiful city.
